Canada Post favours shopping in the US

06.21.2011 · Posted in Business practices, Politics

How about that! While we struggle to make our Canadian businesses grow, Canada Post works hard to favour… American retailers! Boy was I surprised to find out about this Canada Post website to facilitate shopping in the US for Canadian citizens. It’s hard enough to compete with the Amazons of the world in regards to shipping fees, now Canada Post takes the carpet from under our feet, and rolls out the red one for Americans. After the special boxes at low prices for EBay, they open the door even wider for the cross border competition.

Let it be known that I have nothing against the free market, au contraire, but Canada Post is government owned, and should thus start by better serving local entrepreneurs before creating websites to promote buying in the US!
